1.What should they wear in the gym?
Girls should wear a leotard. Boys should wear a t-shirt and shorts. No jeans, shorts or pants with belts or buckles. Hair longer than shoulder length must be tied away from the face. No jewelry should be worn into the gym. All children will be barefoot in the gym, socks can cause slipping on mats and equipment.
2.My child just started, but I think they should move to the level, how can I change classes?
The instructor will inform the front office of a student’s advancement as soon as the appropriate criteria has been met. If your child has been advanced to the next level, you will be notified when re-registering for the following session.
3.You don’t have a class time listed that I have my child and friends want to do, can you make one?
If a coach is available to fill that spot without conflicts, at lease three kids enroll, and is not at a peak hour at the gym, we can consider it. Also, Excel Gymnastics Academy reserves the right to cancel classes if minimum enrollment is not met.
4.I sometimes see another coach working with my child, how many coaches are on a single class?
A maximum number of children in a class, depends on the program running for each age group or skill level. For example, a Kindergym (ages 5-6yrs) max enrollment is 8 students. A beginner class and up, ages (6yrs and Up) max enrollment is at 9 students. If more students are in that class than the set maximum, a second coach will split the class. Your child might have other coaches help periodically, and some coaches will be absent with a sub. Excel Gymnastics Academy will try to keep the same coach on a class throughout the entire session, but reserves the right to change coaches without notification when necessary.
5.When can I register for a class?
You can register at any time for a currently running session. Registration for a later session will start privately for enrolled students about four weeks before the upcoming session. Open registration begins two weeks prior to the new session. You can register over the phone, or in person. Online registration is in the works, and should be an option in the future. Our website is updated constantly, so please look out for class information and discounts.
6.When should I pay?
All fees and tuition must be paid in full at the time of registration. We also offer a Payment Plan, that splits your tuition in half upon registration. A great idea for those enrolling multiple children. There is an annual, non-refundable/non-transferable $25.00 registration fee per child. The registration fee is only $15.00 for the fourth and subsequent children from the same family. The registration fee is the lowest in the area. Illness, family emergency, unscheduled conflicts, and vacation is a common thing. We fully understand this, and offer two make-ups allowed per session. ALL MAKE-UPS MUST BE SCHEDULED WITHIN THE SESSION MISSED. There are no carry-overs. If you can plan on bringing your child a different day, we can try to fit them into the class you prefer. We will also have limited spots available in Open Gym to be used as a make-up for beginner levels and above. We do not refund cash back for missed classes past the second absence. Exceptions can be evaluated by management for account credit, but is not required by Excel Gymnastics to do so. Though your child benefits most when they attend their regular classes, Make-ups can only be scheduled during classes that are not full. Some Terms there are no class openings, therefore no make-ups can be offered.
